I can manually update EPG but the automatic update does not work.
I am getting this error in the log:

"Error updating EPG Source (WinTV-HVR 1950): System.Net.WebException:
Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 205.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080"

More detailed log attached.

Windows XP, SP3
GB-PVR 1.4.7
Schedules Direct (New 1Yr Subscription)

Hope someone can help.
Thank you for your time.

Maybe you have some firewall or antivirus software that is getting in the way of this communication from GBPVRRecordingService.exe?

I turned off anti-virus & firewall but still getting the same error message.
If it is a firewall issue, why do manual updates work?
Any other suggestions?

Is the PC waking up to auto update the EPG? If so, is the network card initialized and ready after a wake?

Thanks McBainUK for your quick response.

Per attached log it does appear that the PC is waking up.
As to your 2nd point re: network card being initialized, where do I find that info?

The above problem seems to be a proxy issue; the proxy address of my previous employer is embedded in my computer and I cannot find - let alone get rid of it. After numerous failed attempts, I switched my EPG Source from SchedulesDirect to XMLTV Plugin. Everything has been working fine ever since.
