I'm lost on this one. In 'TV listings' when using community 3 skin, the font size is very large. The program titles in the listing table does not fit properly within their respective boxes. I tried different fonts and tv guide options in the skin editor as well as switching actively through themes. Can someone tell me how to get it the same size it was when using the plain blue skin in PVRX2. Thanks in advance.

browse to ..\devnz\gbpvr\skin2\Community3\TV Listings (note the ".." usually is C:\Program Files, but your install may be different)

using notepad, you can edit the file in that folder called skin.xml

at about line 27 in that file you will fine these lines

<TextStyle name="ListingStyle" color="White" size="14" style="bold"/>
<TextStyle name="TimelineStyle" color="White" size="12" style="bold"/>

You may replace those size values with whatever suits your taste. The original blue values were.

<TextStyle name="ListingStyle" color="White" size="11"/>
<TextStyle name="TimelineStyle" color="White" size="11"/>

Save the file and there you go.

I have not had such issues. If you can repeat the error where you need to do such and post your PVRX2.exe.log file I can possibly see if there is anything there that is caused by the skin.

Edit:

Just to see if I am re-reading it correctly...This is an issue to launch GB-PVR in PVRX2 mode using your remote?

Thanks Fatman do. May be you can direct me to the right section for this problem. I had a closer inspection today. It seems it is not an issue with skin. I set up the irremote.ini for my 45-button hauppauge remote to turn on TV when I press the TV button on top left. Thats what you have to do in the default section of the ini file. I never really noticed it, but if I have a web page open and the focus is on the web then the TV button is not active any more? I suppose this is normal and I have to research a little more the way the ini file works. I attach my ini file incase you're interested...Incidentally I tried the same procedure you told me of, in this size fix to sort out Music Library 2 fonts which look almost like courier and not arial on my setup, but I seem to have failed. Music library 2 folder appears in skin and skin2 (but named as Music Library3) of the gbpvr folder. I attached all.

Maybe this may help. I don't use it, but maybe it is worth a try?

Music Library2 is only pulled from "Skin", skin2 is for a beta PVRX2 version that is name Music Library3, and it probably will not see active development for some time.

Any plugin that is a PVRX2 version is location in "Skin2", older plugins not updated to the new UI are located in "Skin"

As a general "rule", almost all font sizes and styles in the Community Skin are driven from the baseskin.xml file in the skin's root folder (..\Skin\Community3\ or ..\Skin2\Community3\).

I drive the font styles from that file to make a easier global change.

Thaks for the leads on gbpvr focus. I will consider that plugin, but am reluctant to load another service. I had a look for the font and could only find this line:

<TextStyle name="DefaultTextStyle" color="General" typeFace="Arial" size="13" style="bold"/>

Appears already is Arial, but my Music Library 2 font has very jagged edges as if it's in low resolution.

However I have managed to change the size of the video library fonts below my add-on images which has helped to improve the look of that section.

Yep that line sets what most screens use as far as font and size. There may be some other fonts which give better performance. Someone else mentioned a better font once for the TVGuide (In their opinion). I'll see if I can dig that post up.

Here is a link,

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=77

Try Tahoma as a font and see how it looks.

Same deal in Tahoma. I got my TV screen set to 1920x1080 so its a shame to see this one plugin screen making the TV look like it's in VGA mode. That tahoma is what Music Library xmls were set to when first installed.

Pushing that high of a resolution, I would imagine those fonts won't get much better. You are taking a 720x480 image and upscaling it. Is there any other old UI plugins you are using as well?

We might get you going with trying to use the xml's from the "Community-WS" skin. It isn't being worked on by me anymore (and doesn't contain all plugins either), but I did have a higher resolution MusicLibrary2 skin. Let me know what other plugins you run and we can try an experiment.
