Hello,
I'm new to GBPVR and I have been unable to download Zap2it tv listings. I have had a membership on Zap2it for a few years.
I have tried both my login & creating a new login with the same results.
I'm using pvr 250mce & 150. Cable modem, WinXP pro.

I have verified my Zap2it login @ the site and it works fine.
When I try to update the EPG it tells me that I do not have it configured correctly. All firewalls are turned off.

If anybody has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
rick

You need a separate login from the http://labs.zap2it.com site.

I'm having similar problems. I have a valid Zap2it login that has worked with previous versions of GBPVR, but since I installed 2311, I can't get it to work. If I go to the labs.zap2it.com site I can login with my username and pw.

I create the EPG source, restart the config application, then click "update epg", it says "requesting information...", then exchanges a lot of data, then never processes it.

I've checked my account at Zap2it, and have clarified with them that I'm using GB-PVR, and have a valid account through March.

Anyone else having issues?

ANEDJF.

additional info...

I created a new zap2it login with no luck (same result)

I tried a non-existant login, and got an error.

I disabled all the XP SP2 stuff (firewall, norton virus, etc.)d

Something in the data coming back from zap2it seems to have changed. I have been using the node called "xtvdDocument" which contained the listings. I've just tried now, and the node seems to now be called "xtvd". I'm not really sure why this has happened, I'll look into it in the morning.

I too am having this problem with zap2it. It downloads but does not update the guide. I had this problem with another app before they put out a patch for it just this week.

I see this in a post on the zap2it site:
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">This release changes the WSDL to make it compatible with a broader range of SOAP tools. The wrapping <xtvdDocument> element has been removed and replaced with a reference to the tms:xtvd element. (See these forum threads for more notes on WSDL incompatibilites: one, two, three, four.) Furthermore, the response of the xtvdService has been modified to match the modified WSDL, i.e. the wrapping <xtvdResponse> is no longer output.

In addition, in accordance with standards, we have modified the charset specified in the xtvdService's HTTP header to be lowercase ("utf-8" instead of "UTF-8"). Note that the content-type remains "text/xml," which adheres to the SOAP 1.1 spec. (See this thread for more information.)

Further information available in the release notes:
DataDirectRelease2004-12-01.pdf

This code was released to Production on 2004-12-08 at 3:00 p.m. CST. It was originally scheduled for release on 2004-12-01 (as indicated in the Release Notes) but was delayed one week.[/QUOTE]
I'll look into it in the morning.

Noob here for GB PVR. Not a Noobie on PVR (been jumping from Fedora Mythtv, KnoppMyth, Sage, Beyond, and Meedio look for the best bang for my hardware and my $$

For the price GB is pretty darn good. Mythtv is hard to beat too (I am a LINUX geek).

Anyway, I did a brandnew install and I too have an account with zap2it and no luck with update epg.

I found a work around:
I downloaded the xmltv,

http://sourceforge.net/project....=286148

follow the steps that generate the config with username and password for zap2it, make a batch file to run it and redirect it out to an .xml file and set the GB program (EPG Source) to XMLTV Plugin and point to the file.

Now I will have to create a schedule to run the bat file everynight or every other to keep the .xml file fresh of course or until the update epg is fixed [Image: smile.gif]

-Cheers, Dan.

Cool, worked for me. Good workaround.

Now I've got a batch that runs it nightly at 2am, so it can be done by the time GBPVR looks at it at 3am.

I agree. That workaround was a bit beyond me. I am a network guy, not a programmer. Hope Sub can make some changes and come through for us once again. I hate not having my pvr. It's like a drug!

Also, what is the official number of the new release. I tried the link in the release thread, but the page doesn't go through. I am able to get 2311. Is this the newest release?
