Okay, this is EXTREMELY strange, and I'm not sure whats happening...
I just hooked up my TV to my computer thru a HDMI cable.
Everything works fine after I figured out resolutions/refresh rates ect...

Video playback is fine while it is displayed through my monitor in windows media player.
That is, with recordings from GB-PVR.
If I drag WMP from the destop monitor to the TV, the video inside WMP disapears!!!!!
I drag it back to the destop monitor, and its playing just fine.

So far, any other videos work just fine on the big screen, AVI, WMV, some MPG formats work.

Any clue as to what is going on here?

What type of video card do you have?
I remember a option I saw a while back to pick what display to play overlayed video (i think thats what it was called) on etc. I think it was for nvidia, ati probly has something similar
I dont know where it is in the new control interface they used (sorry)
Look for an option to pick a display for overlay or video play back
I remember I had the same problem when I used s-video out to my tv an wanted play back full screen video on my tv

I have an 800xl(agp) card.
All video plays fine, when played on the computers monitor.
I have setup an extended desktop.
Video plays in WMP while on the computer monitor, but as I drag the window across to the TV, the video dissapears while I drag the window across to the TV.
I can span the window 50/50, across the two displays, ond only the half on the computer monitor shows, the other half is a black WMP window.

hope that make sense to yea?

I'm starting to think it maybe some kind of copyright crap?

Its a ati card
Based on what I can extrapolate from my catalyst control panel (in my desktop I have an x1300) you need to mess around with the theater mode options, I can change any thing since I only have one monitor setups
I suspect that it will only let you play video on one video output at a time so you will probably have to pick one or the other an switch back and forth

Well, what confuses me, is that MOST video WILL play on the big screen, only SOME mpg formats wont.

I've downloaded some high def demo videos, and they look totally outstanding. but videos recorded by GB-PVR will not show. Sad

I believe its a limitation/security feature of Wmp. have you tried other players, such as zoomplayer, mediaplayer classic, or VLC? also, have you tried it with GBPVR on the second monitor?
