Last weekend Beloved turned off our mediacenter by pressing the power-button, which switches the machine to standby. She actually wanted to run it on, but didn't look at the display (shows clock when turned on). Unfortunately, there were two programs being recorded, which are now a bit messed up. Good thing is, she realizes it's her own fault and doesn't complain to me Wink

Then she asked me: "how can I see that it is recording?" and my answers are a bit vague at best (we're using PVRx2):
* the hard-disk light is blinking at a steady rate
* it is shown when looking at the pending recordings

Is there another, better way to check this? I know that GB-PVR showed recording status on the main menu. Is it possible to get this in PVRx2 as well?

I rarely reboot my lounge PC, but when I need to I look on the pending list in the Recordings screen. It'll show you if anything is recording. If the user interface is closed you can also look at the system tray icon.

That was what I meant to say in my second answer (I later edited planned into pending), but it's not really straigtforward. The WAF would increase a lot if there would be some status information on the main menu, like there was in GB-PVR.

PS: User interface is always opened in full screen mode.

Sub, another question: is it possible at all that gbpvr prevents the PC from going into standby when the powerbutton is pressed?

I'm not aware of anything that would stop it going into standby.

Wouldn't this be in windows power management (control panel)?

What would x be then, because I would want it to go into standby when it's not recording. I just want to prevent the PC from going into standby when the powerbutton is pressed accidentily, while it is recording.

Nice plugin, although you'd need a keyboard to benefit from it. My mediacenter is simply a low-noise PC, that is just connected to the TV and is controlled from a remote (or through VNC/RDP).

Ah sorry I skim read. you want the behavior to change depending on whether a recording is in progress or not.

It may be possible to write code to do this but there is nothing off the shelf that does it.
