Hauppauge remote not working after wake up

Thought I had it sorted for a minute. After standby or hibernation machine comes back up, but can;'t get the hauppauge remote going. Not even a restart IR does the trick.

I could probably get it working by switching to usb-uirt - but the problem with uirt, is I don't know how to start gbpvr using that, and I have an external command to run powerdvd and so would like to control that with the same remote.

What would i need to do this, or does someone know how i can solve my first problem.

Are you using the GBPVR utility to control the remote or some other utility?

Not sure i understand what you mean. The hauppauge remote runs thgrough hauppauge software and usb uirt is not running though any software

Is your 500MCE trying to take over your remote? Although it doesn't have an input for the Hauppauge remote, it will still try to take control of it, preventing your other cards from getting to it.

Go to your control panel-->system-->hardware config and stop the 500MCE. Restart ir.exe and see if it now works. That will at least tell you if the 500MCE is hogging your remote. You can also use the DevCon utility from microsoft which can also be used to stop and start devices on the fly.

Cool, think I remember reading about that devcon utility somewhere else. But I don't think it matters since it seems something is keeping my system awake any way.
