Hi, I have an Acer laptop with an AVer Media A310 Card built in.

Am I able to get GBPVR running on this machine. It doesn't seem to auto detect it.

I'll try a few more things, any help would be appreciated.

Windows Vista Home Premium
Card is installed according to Device Manager. AVerMedia A310 (MiniCard DVB-T)

Cheers.

This device lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder, so isnt usable in GB-PVR as an analog device.

Assuming its got BDA drivers, then it should be usable for DVB-T when our DVB-T system launches here in NZ. You need a pretty powerful dual-core CPU and decent video card to watch these channels though, so that might be a problem for your laptop.

Thanks for the info!

After some more playing this morning the card is now showing up under BDA as AVerMedia Volar DVB-T.

After detecting it did some scanning and found "Reserved 1KHD" Doesn't seem to be doing anything else.

The system is a 2Ghz Core2Due with 2Gb RAM and an ATI 2300 with 256MB Onboard RAM.

I guess I will have to wait for FreeView to go Live to really see if I can do anything with it.

You most likely need to install this patch: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=32729

Thank. I will give that a go after work.

I'll use the Roof aerial this time.

Right a bunch more channels are now showing up. afaik the EPG is kinda working (its telling me when parliament is next sitting Big Grin. Seems to only show for Maori and Parliament TV.

Under mapping it has a those two and then 5 Reserved channels.

I still can't get any image to show for any of the channels though, at the moment when I click LIVE TV it is saying "No connection could not be made because the target machine actively refused it"

With PVRX2 under LIVE TV it has a Blank Screen, also in the mapping dialog box where it says to use the preview screen on the right, that is blank too.

I'm probably missing some obvious option, pretty noob at this tbh.

Maybe something to do with Video Codes?~

thanks

Do another scan, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look. It definitely finds all the channels here.

I think you're trying to scan the Wellington frequencies, which arent the same as Christchurch (except 1 of the 3 frequencies).

Try dropping the attached file into C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA\DVB-T, then go into your capture source settings and select the 'Christchurch (Sugarloaf)' instead of 'Mt KauKau'.
