This may be in the wrong forum, if so, apologies

When I record a program, the file is always ".dvr-ms"

The Wiki mentions that I can run a bat file to convert this to a .avi file, but does not mention how this is done, or how I go about getting the software to do so

Help?

You're using a DVB device. The type of file that gets produced depends on the mux you're using. The Microsoft DVR-MS mux creates .dvr-ms files. The Cyberlink and ATI muxes produce .mpg files. The TS Mux option creates .ts files.

If you want .mpg files, you need to install the Cyberlink or ATI mux, then select it as the preferred mux on the misc tab of the config app.

Thanks

I've got PowerDVD installed, but Cyberlink's not an option in the drop down in the config app. How do I go about getting that particular mux? (Or, the ATI one)

I understand you can't host such files here, is there any chance you can point me at a link, or site to find the software?
