How can I completely disable generating the logfiles of gbpvr?

You cant, but you can change the logging level in the config app.

Placing read only files with the same names as the log files *may* stop it logging.

Is it then possible to place the logfiles to a folder othe than the desktop?

How do you start GB-PVR? The log files get created in working directory, so if you're starting it from a short cut, just set the working directory on the shortcut to c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr.
