Hi,

I'm having the following problem with my GB PVR with Hauppuage 1300. About 5 or 10 mins into recording, even if I'm not watching the recording itself, it will freeze completely. And I mean the kind of freeze that ctrl-alt-delete cant get anything out of, the screen will be frozen with a garbled imaged and only a hard reset will restart the computer. I've attached some logs, I'm using ver 1.2.9 and XP with SP2. An AMD 4200+ with 2gb RAM. The vid card is integrated though, but I dont think thats the problem. I'm not using any plugins.

Hopefully someone can help

Thanks all

If you machine locks hard, requiring a reboot, then this is almost certainly occurring inside one of the drivers you're using - most likely either the drivers for the video card or the HVR1300.

I'm trying to use the drivers only for the hauppage (without WinTV), and I'm using the latest version of them. Also, I've removed all the video codecs I used to have, so there should only be the most common ones and the ones Hauppage installs with it's drivers. I'm using DirectX 9c, but the quartz.dll I'm using is the version from DirectX9b, because I read on this forum somewhere that it sorts out 'stuttering'. I will try revert back to quartz.dll from version DirectX9c and see if it still locks

Do you have any other advice on what I should look for?

I think its more likely to be caused by your videocard drivers. You could try using the Overlay video renderer to see if it behaves any differently.

Hi

I have the similar problem on my PVR with also HVR1300 card. I have 3 similar systems but 2 freeze quite frequently while the other one never (using very old GBPVR version 3 years ago). What I can share here is, it has nothing to do with any CPU be it Intel or AMD. However one common thing these 3 system share is Asus motherboard. I am using onboard graphic chipset for video. I have tried using overlay manager video renderer but doesnt help. If you have got your system problem resolve please share with me the solution. thanks.
