I'm using an HVR-1600 with OTA ATSC input, and have tried all sorts of muxes, but they all give me this same problem.

When I first start TV (timeshifting), everything works great. When I change the channel, then video doesn't show up anymore. The GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log shows this error when it's tuning the new channel:

Quote:2008-04-17 00:00:39.650 VERBOSE Finished initialzing Cyberlink mux
2008-04-17 00:00:39.662 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Output' to 'Video In'
2008-04-17 00:00:39.662 VERBOSE ConnectPins failed: hr = 80040209
2008-04-17 00:00:39.662 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Audio' to 'Audio In'
2008-04-17 00:00:39.663 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Output' to 'Input'

sub, or anyone else who can figure this out, what is going wrong?

Thanks!

Those logs don't show any errors. Does it do it if you use the DVR-MS mux?

Yep, I've tried DVR-MS, TS Mux, ATI Mpeg, and several flavors of Cyberlink muxes.. they all have the same behavior (and the same "Connectpins failed" at each channel change, if that means anything). But they all work fine on the first instance.

Although with DVR-MS, I actually get PVRX2 to crash with an APPCRASH more often than not, which is odd. The TS and MPEG muxes don't do that.

Isn't it a problem that the Video In pin to the mux isn't getting connected? That's exactly the symptom as well; no video.. but why isn't the graph getting hooked up correctly, thats the question.

I cleared out everything with HCWCLEAR and re-installed the drivers again just for fun, and still no luck.. I'll try maybe un-registering all the filters except for DVR-MS, maybe that will help.. just stabbing in the dark at this point..

Ok, now DVR-MS is not crashing, but having the same exact problem.. and similar error in the recording service native log:

Quote:2008-04-17 12:53:47.930 VERBOSE getSetting(BDAUseCachedSequenceHeaders)
2008-04-17 12:53:47.930 VERBOSE Setting media type for HD
2008-04-17 12:53:47.930 VERBOSE Creating MPEG-2 Video pin mapped to PID 49
2008-04-17 12:53:47.930 VERBOSE ...used cached video media type
2008-04-17 12:53:47.938 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Video' to 'Input'
2008-04-17 12:53:47.947 VERBOSE Using DVR-MS mux
2008-04-17 12:53:47.947 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Output' to 'in'
2008-04-17 12:53:47.947 VERBOSE ConnectPins failed: hr = 80040209
2008-04-17 12:53:47.947 ERROR Failed to connect flowStatusFilter to Video Analyzer In

2008-04-17 12:53:47.947 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'out' to 'DVR In - 1'
2008-04-17 12:53:47.948 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'Audio' to 'DVR In - 2'

This has to be a problem... audio is fine, video is not coming in... and the error is obviously some pin not being connected correctly in the graph having to do with Video..

sub, can you please shed some light on this?

If you disable timeshift mode, do you still have the same issue when changing channels?

Just tried after disabling timeshifting, and it seems to work ok... hmm.. why doesn't it work for timeshifting though? (I only watch timeshifting in GBPVR.. )

Is it a limitation of GBPVR that ATSC cannot be timeshifted? Sad

I'm not aware of any problems around this, but I dont usually run in timeshift mode. I'll try to check it out later today.

hmm just a thought.. this might be more of a feature request, but could it be possible to disable timeshifting mode for a particular capture source?

in that case, i could keep timeshifting my SD stuff, and then when it comes to the ATSC (which is a separate source), it would just move over to live preview instead and avoid this bug.
