On my HTPC I only use TV out. When it automatically wakes from standby in the middle of the night for EPG update or scheduled recording the VMR9 renderer is not available until a key is pressed. This causes PVRX2.exe to crash. The message box that pops up prevents the HTPC to go back to standby.
When I wake the HTPC with a key press everything is OK.
When I connect a monitor as secondary display (extending the desktop to that monitor) automatic wakeup does not cause PVRX2.exe to crash. This is a workaround but WAF goes down when I have an extra monitor in the living Big Grin
But there are still problems, one is that the clock is showing some very strange behavior, like it is set back in time (see below log)
I could not find a solution in a KB of Microsoft but I assume there are more people with the same problem.
Any hints?

Attached are the pvr2.exe logs

Oops, I should upgrade to 1.2.9. as one of the problems already seem to be solved, will do so and report back!!!!

With PVRX2.exe from the latest release this problem is solved.

Not for me it's not?! Still get this error occasionally even using gEd's autoit script to prevent it.

Just to clarify, I don;t think that the black screen on resume and "vmr9 not supported" are the same problem.

The first is a feature of a windows invoked resume (so desktop stays asleep).
"VMR9 nto available" seems to just happen when the directx system/graphics card is not quite ready for gbpvr.

My script attempts to deal with this 2 situations and it seems to work well for me, tho' others such as frankmcg get variable results.

What do I need to do / scripts to use to avoid this error on automatic wakeup?

Sorry just to be clear I've had 100% success using the script to fix the black screen on wakeup problem. It's the "VMR9 not available" error which I'm still getting on occasion (probably about once a week).

Have a look at this thread. You'll need to download autoit and recompile the script on the first post to set up for your config.
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=25751

Func Check_GBPVR in the script is for the VMR9 problem, and

DllCall ("kernel32.dll","long","SetThreadExecutionState","long",0x00000002)

fixes the black screen problem.

I am just updating the source code on that page to 2.91 to fix a design problem that might cause the script to kill off your EPG update processes....

Unfortunately, my ability to help with any problems may be compromised by the reliability of the wi-fi connection at the holiday cottage we are staying in for the next week....
