Hi @all,
for the channels here in germany I downloaded some channel logos from
Speedbomb.de

The logos there are either 64 x 64 pixels or 82 x 82 pixels.
All as png.

The problem now is that the logos get distorted (stretched horizontally).

Is there any way to prevent the stretching ?
I read somewhere that I must remove some kind of information from the png ?
Is that right and if yes what must be removed ?

Does it help if I convert the png files into a jpg with Corel Draw 9 ?

Or the other way round :
What is the best resolution / color depth of channel logos for GBPVR ?

Regards
Sven

I used the ones found here:

http://www.satlogo.com/

And they fit perfectly. They've got logos for all countries; you might want to try them.

No. They will look best if they have an aspect ratio of 3:2 (i.e 60x40), which is pretty much what the logos from satlogo.com are.

No, you shouldnt have to remove anything.

If you have logos where the aspect ration is 1:1 (64*64), then you may wish to make new images which are slightly larger (64x42=3:2), with the original logo centered on a black or transparent background.

If you use a transparent background for this larger image, you need to save it as a png so it retains the transparency. You could also edit the 'tv guide\skin.xml' to add showChannelIconOutline="false" to the Guide SpecialElement.
