Hi!

I have this long standing problem since several GB-PVR versions back. The problem is that if I use Live TV without timeshift I mostly get video/audio sync problems. Not always but enough to irritate a lot. Hitting escape to meny and back to Live TV (f2) mostly cures it.

The funny thing is I never get this problem in Timeshift mode or when watching recordings. What on earth is going on? I tried setting the Live TV buffer to high values such as over 1 second, and it solves the problem sometimes but not always. So for now I am forcing Timeshift mode always on - gives sluggish chanel change, but always in sync.

I tried several different combinations of video and audio decoders, but not really solving this. I have a known to work version of the cyberlink demuxer, and cyberlink 7.3 video decoder and NVIDIA purevideo audio decoder right now. I also have a multidec setup with newcs and yanksee.

The problem for me was that I had a Soundblaster soundcard, when i changed the Audio renderer it solved the problem.

I tried all the Audio renderers to no avail.

I had actually two issues: occasional audio/video sync problems and acatch up problem. That catch up in timeshift or recordings in progress did not work. These may have been related. However the solution for me was this:

Change the Audio decoder to Dscaler from Nvidia. I have Cyberlink video decoder. Although I have tested this before with sad results it seems now that all worked perfectly. I have an S/SPDIF out setup for all but MPEG audio.
That in itself may have been the solution to both problems, but I also changed the MPEG demuxer from Cyberlink to DVR-MS. And all is sweet and well now!

So, one of these changes was the solution - or maybe both in conjunction. Both my issues are gone!

This is the most significant change, but either way - it is good that it's working now Smile

Actually, the audio sync problems was due to the Audio decoder since changing to dvr-ms alone did not help.
