Hello,

I have a popcorn on order and I have a couple of simple questions that I haven't yet seen answered.

1. Can I use more than one Popcorn on one GBPVR Media Server?

2. When using the Popcorn as the client, is it possible to still use certain client-side plugins (say, TV Listings, or Weather) ?

Thank you kindly.

I think so. I only own the one though, so havnt been able to test the multiple PCH scenario.

I have two and they both worked with GB-PVR, in fact the PCH seems to be even easier on the PC then the MVP for SD material.

That being said, many PCH users say that playing DVD's via a Windows share isn't possible, I guess I have been lucky, so the more things you use your server for the more issues you will see. Multiple devices playing HD is going to be an increasing problem I think. The HD captured with the new Hauppauge HD PVR will from the spec actually be fairly low bit rate (almost not HD in my opinion) so it probably won't be bad, but it will get much worse for other content.

Great.

Keep in mind its H264 video though, so the bitrate is going to be a lot lower than an MPEG2 bitrate for same quality picture. Our highest quality DVB-T H.264 1080i broadcasts are 10.1 Mbps.

I don't think there is an issue with standard OTA, cable, or satellite television after all it is not in the broadcasters best interest to use too much bandwidth. Our one local channel does 1080i at 20Mbs as mpeg-2 so the HD PVR probably is well matched with it.

Where it gets harder is with Blue Ray when the bandwidth goes much higher. Here is some talk about the infamous "Bird Scene" that hits 40 Mbs

With this even one PCH and GBPVR would have trouble.
