Don't see it in the drop-down lists anymore, did it get removed (and not mentioned in the changelog?) or am I just blind? The "old" UI (gbpvr.exe) just hogs 100% cpu and doesn't run anymore (this is upgrading from 1.1.5, btw). Was there a patch I missed, or what's the deal?

PS: Bravo to Hauppauge coming out with the HD-PVR (it's about f'n time!) component (or HDMI) *IN*put is what we need here to record HD! It's the only way our cable boxes around here output HD is via component/HDMI. But the price tag, $249, OUCH, and an external box vs. an internal card...I prefer the internal card...just a matter of time, though, I'm sure!

The config app no longer shows the setting to select the hardware decoder, but other than that, I'm not aware of any changes. Other than that setting no longer showing (its still in the config.xml file), it should function the same as previous releases.

The PVR350 should work fine as a capture device. When you setup an analog capture source it should be listed as an option.

I havnt tested the PVR350 tv out with GBPVR.exe for a very very long time, so I wouldnt be surprised if that no longer. The PVR350 tv out hasnt been supported for about 2 years now, and its been almost that long ago since I last tested it for this. GBPVR.exe has reached the end of its life, and will no longer be included with future GB-PVR releases, so you'll either need to move to PVRX2.exe, or stick with an old release of GB-PVR.

Right, I should have been clearer, my bad, I meant the TV-Out portion of it, it was working in 1.1.5, (there was a drop-down in config) but no longer in 1.2.9. I thought I saw you mention somewhere about gbpvr.exe being retired, but I couldn't find that post again. I'm not huge on pvrx2.exe's display, because it's so much smaller than the TV-Out from my 350 on gbpvr.exe, on my 27" TV, but I've seen it on a 42" Plasma though, and it looks great Smile (just wish I could afford one)

In theory GBPVR.exe should be exactly same as 1.1.5. The setting in the config app, that edits <HardwareDecoder> in config.xml, is no longer shown in the config app, but should be functionally the same.

If the PVR350 tv out is not working though, there isnt anything I'm going to do about it now. I dont mean to sound rude about this, and I am sorry, but I've made it very clear for a long time that this was no longer supported.

Unfortunately I dont really have much I can say. Things have moved on, and these days the default UI is favouring high def widescreen displays, which seem to be the norm for most people now.

Having GBPVR.exe hanging around makes it impossible for me to change some of the shared DLLs that are used by both GBPVR.exe and PVRX2.exe. I've given people a year to move over to this new UI. I know its not going to suit everyone, but that is the price of progress. People can stick with an old release if they prefer to not use PVR2.exe.

I'm not going to sweat it too much, I figured sooner or later the tv-out of my 350 was going to go away, it just sucks I paid so much for the card and it never really lived up to my expectations (having to loop the output back into the sound card input, for example!) Not to mention I expect things to be more stable, every so often the TV-Out would crap out and I'd have to restart the recording service (or worse, restart the whole machine) to get it back again. Doing this will streamline things a bit, I guess, and it'll be more future-proof (if there really is such a thing). I'm planning on upgrading ye olde pvr system pretty soon anyhow, it's largely unchanged since I started using GB-PVR years ago!

These are the exact reasons I dropped support for it a long time back. The drivers for this device was flakey at best - GBPVR was never going to be able to work around these issues that were occurring in code I had no control over.
