Had some issues installing, but got it there. Live tv kind of works - sound bu no video, but I'm normally connected RDP so i didn't expect video.

But I can't record anything. Just see an error in the record log.

Have tried blowing away the config and the db and set it up again, but no effect.

I can see the mpeg2 demultiplexer error and have tried re-registering mpg2plt.ax to no effect.

I think that MPEG-2 Demultiplexer problem is the cause.

Have you tried, deregistering it first?

regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax

I know other users have managed to register it to get a missing 'MPEG-2 Demultiplexer' filter to reappear in the past.

If that doesnt work, I'm not sure what to suggest - worst case might be a Windows reinstall.

I assume you no longer get this far? This implied you had the MPEG2 Demultiplexer working.

Yeah do have the same behaviour - with live preview mode, get sound but no video, but it stays "recording." ie. the recording service displays that it's active.

Where with "recording" the status screen switches green to indicate recording, then goes back to not recording...
