I know that SP3 is unsupported, but has anyone made this work?

I get Error 1904 Module . . . GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register. I tried as local admin, that doesn't help. Tried ignoring my way through the errors. I get the same error for a bunch of files.

i've updated from sp2 to sp3 with no faults.

but now i did a fresh install on that same machine with sp3 slipstreamed into the install cd and i get the same error...

So i've got a clean install with divx and AC3 filter on it and disabled index service.

If I try to install i receive the same errors.
I've tried installing vcredist_x86... No luck...
Also updated the system completetly (via windows update)... No luck...

Also tried to manually register the files but when I do so the regserver return an error that say:
"Loading of the library <filename> into the memory failed. The selected program could not be started because it's configuration is wrong. Reinstalling the program might fix the problem" (this is roughly translated from Dutch to English...

Any suggestions?

I had to remove the recording service, and then it installed fine.
There was a thread somewhere about this.
sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"

Hi, thanks for you reply but I think you misunderstood me.

I had gbpvr installed on a sp2 machine which I upgraded via windows update to sp3. there gbpvr ran fine.

Yesterday I formatted the same machine and installed win xp sp3 (so with sp3 slipstreamed into it)
No when I want to install gbpvr I get the 1904 error message.
==> 1. I've tried installing vcredist_x86... No luck...
==> 2. Also updated the system completetly (via windows update)... No luck...
==> 3. Also tried to manually register the files but when I do so the regserver return an error that say:
"Loading of the library <filename> into the memory failed. The selected program could not be started because it's configuration is wrong. Reinstalling the program might fix the problem" (this is roughly translated from Dutch to English...

Thx!
Nick

Yep,
i've shift-deleted the Devnz directory
==> rebooted the machine
==> tried installing under administrator AND as a power user
==> Also tried the "sc delete 'gb-pvr recording service'-command" after uninstalling gbpvr in command prompt but it returns an error that the service doens't exist.

Does this mean you had no luck installing vcredist_86 or does it mean no luck afterwards?
You definitely need the vcredis_86.
