I don't have a dish with the tons of channels that others in the U.S. get, but I have seen very few rugby games when visiting relatives.

Don't know if it was the Super 14 or not, but I would say 99% of americans have never seen a rugby game televised here.

Saw it on tvguides website they have a listing grid that shows all the current fall line up info released by the networks.

Thanks a lot. It is so much better then Numb3rs that I hope this move gives it that push it needed. Wednesday was a nightmare last year, even with a PVR.

Fatman Do et al,

coudn't resist planting a scribe here:

Firstly Fatman do, given your image you do not mention Benny Hill repeats Big Grin

Un-childered here at the moment but:

Wife: Any soap she can get her hands on, particularly, in order, Eastenders, Corrie, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks.

Ugly Betty was a goer for her while it was on but appears to finished now for a brief respite, she also seems to have got bored with Desperate Houswifes (thank heaven).

Moi: Top Gear, Scrapheap Challenge, Have I got News for you, QI, and Jonny Ross on a Friday night. Also am still hooked on Lost even though it is taking so long to sort itself out! Oh and any interesting film that's going on...

LYA

Cheers

Just out of curiosity of where people are and the shows they watch. No other reason. I assumed it was UK, but wasn't sure.

Haven't seen Benny here in the U.S. for about 30 years. That is just probably me and where I am.

And yet oddly they sit and yell at a variation of the game for four hours every Sunday afternoon and Monday night. Funny lot these Yanks.

I did watch the Rugby World Cup last year via Setanta. I went down to my local and had to explain the rules to all the blokes in the bar. They were especially impressed with the Haka performed by the various Pacific Island teams.

I catch the Cricket at my local Indian food place. There's a Jamaican place just opened up down the street from the Indian and so it's a good day's Cricket with varied food.

I'm a transplanted Brit now living in New Jersey (no Turnpike jokes please) and find it amusing to see just how many British shows are finding their way onto US TV.

What's even more amusing is to see British actors star in US shows faking US accents. What's up with that Hollywood? Not enough unemployed actors hanging around the studios waiting for their close ups?

I saw Hugh Laurrie on Actors Studio recently and all they could talk about was House and his association with Emma Thompson. No mention of Jeeves & Wooster and only a very little of Blackadder.

OK, so what do we watch in this house?

Mrs NI2O;
CSI:whatever
Entire Law & Order franchise
Antiques Road Show (another UK steal)
2.5 Men
Oprah
Dr Pheeel
Gene Simmons

Ms NI2O;
Hannah Montana
Disney animated everything
Charlie & Lola (UK steal)
Handy Manny

Master NI2O;
Bob the Builder (UK show with Grep Proops voice - yuch!!!!)
Caillou
Postman Pat (BBCK via Nimiq 1)
Mickey Mouse Club House
Thomas the Tank Engine (Who is Sir Toppem Hat? Where the heck is The Fat Controller?)

NI2O Actual;
Most anything on the Discovery channels (Dis, Mil, Civ etc)
History Channel
BritCom night on local PBS (NJN)
Top Gear (BBC Canada)
ST:VOY/DS9/TNG
Stargate Atlantis
Judge John Deed (BBC Canada)
Venus (I know you are all watching that too!)

I also listen to WRN via Galaxy25.

Before moving to the US I used to watch F1 but now that Speed channel has gone from my local cable provider to make way for more HSN channels I'm out of touch. Where can I see F1 now?

Our interests are varied and wide - it'd make a long list!

One we like (and will admit to!) is Big Brother. We recently got a copy of Big Brother 6 from the UK and have been enjoying watching it (though we have to keep backing up and repeating scenes to catch what they are saying since they talk so funny! Rolleyes ). The first US version was close to the UK version, but the later US versions are quite different so the UK version is quite refreshing.

Since we are enjoying the UK Big Brother so much I've poked around at other UK programs . . . looks like they have a Survivor type program called "Ship Wrecked" that looks interesting.

I see Australia also has some similar programming.

I'm thinking I may have to sort out bit torrent and see if I could download some of these to give our viewing a little more international variety.

We enjoy mostly sitcoms, some reality (mostly Big Brother, Survivor, and occasionally Amazing Race), some drama (NYPD Blue, the original CSI), and some sci fi (mostly Star Trek / Star Wars type of stuff) . . . we'd be interested in some recommendations for non-US produced programs in these genres if anyone cares to make any.

If anyone has some of these archived on DVD drop me a note, I have a few US produced I've archived also so perhaps a trade could be worked out.

TTYL,

Steve
