video library: delay when starting movie?

First, thanks (again) for the good work sub!

When I select a movie from the video library, it takes 15 to 20 seconds before it actually starts playing. It was with version 1.2.9 and with the new version as well. This does not happen when I play a recording. Oh, the video library is on a network drive, but I think it still shouldn't take so long. Is this a common problem or should I send some logfiles?

Delays starting playback are usually caused by a bad directshow decoder installed, or too many decoders, installed on the machine (causing a slow filter negotiation).

Can someone explain me how to debug this? I installed k-lite codec pack with (if I remember correctly) the default settings.. so probably it includes way too many things that I don't need at all...
