I noticed that when restarting the computer today that the recording service does not load automatically, and i tried to set a recording and it would not record. This was to be expected but i am trying to see how to get the recording service to start on computer boot up.

I noticed the other day i missed a recording or two because of this and would like to know if there is a setting or do i have a problem with the install

Thanks

The first place I'd look is in the Windows Event logs - if a service fails to start there's normally a Service Control Manager entry with some information as to why it didn't start. It may also be worth zipping and attaching your GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and .exe-native.log files from the time of the reboot.

Cheers,
Brian

make sure in your start up you have "gbpvr-tray"

THe GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log was never created

NO luck after new install, still does not start after reboot. HAve posted my logs, event log shows no errors, and i can see no evidence the service was attempted to be started.

I see this starts up as the gbpvr icon is loading in my tray and i can manually restart the recording service through it, but when checking the processes under windows task manager i dont see it in there until i restart it manually. As a work around i have put the restart.bat file in my start up folder and now it loads on start up, but was wondering if there is a better fix for it

Thanks for the help so far

If you go into the Control Panel -> administrative tools -> services, is GBPVR Recording Service set to auto start? If so, is there any failure message in the Windows Event Viewer?
