Okay heres the problem

I have a hauppage 500mce recieving 1-3 Maori and Prime

I have just finished resetting up my hauppauge nova-s + and can tune all channels

Now the weirdness, I can not view tv2 or tv3 from the satelite but only the analogue versions. In config I can got to the individual tuners and see all channels but in the final channel list there is only one instance of tv2 and tv3, I assume this is because the naming convention is the same as their satelite counterparts (tv1 is tv One on sat) but Maori tv still appears twice.

The other wierd thing is I am not getting some of the channel logos for the freeview channels but not a major.

The reason I want to be able to see both versions is sometimes we record both tv2 and tv3 at the same time, last night for example. So I can't just disable the analogue channels as this would not allow me to record 2 and 3 from one sat card.

any ideas?

it will use the first available tuner to view live from the bottom of the config list recording starts at the top
its easier to use the one epg data source
when you edit the digtal tuning you can select tv1 instead of tvone and map that to the tuning request
so then you end up with just one tv1 in your guide
you should only get one of each station gbpvr will sort out which tuner is available either analog or digital

there are actually 2 maori stations one on the tv3 transponder and one on tvnz from memory

try setting 3 recordings going
then cancel one on the digital tuner then watch live tv and see whats available
then do the same for analog

you should find that you can watch 123 on both if not you have done something weird

When setting up a mixture of analog and dvb channels, I recommend that people stick to the same xmltv file as the EPG source, so that the system treats them as the same channel. Mixing the xmltv source and dvb epg source can create a few problems. This helps the app know what to do with conflicts etc

What have you done on the EPG front?

Do you have image files in the .\media\channellogos directory that exactly match the channel names?

atm I have reven's xmltvnz running and dvb-s epg for the dvb-s channels.

I will look further in to the logo thing at some stage thats not a major atm.

I will change over to full reven epg and try to change the name of tvOne, or remap i mean.

Is there anyway I can change the priority of the tuners so that the digital will be used for livetv first if no recording present? Looking in the the longer term I will get another nova-s + and just leave the prime signal on the analogue tuner unless i find a nice satelite/analogue tuner in the mean time

When scheduling a recording it works its way down the capture source list looking for an available one with the required channel. Live TV does the opposite, working its way from the bottom of the list, up to the top. The only control you have over this is adjusting the order of the capture devices, or disabling channels on certain capture sources.

so the assumption is at the moment that if i can only view the analogue then that the sat tuner must be higher up the list and therefore would be the first used for recording?

you can add a second nova-s entry at the bottom
so you have 2 entries of the nova-s one at the top and one at the bottom
one physical card ,dont worry gbpvr knows there is only one but will use it if its free

if you look at your capture sources in config where is the nova-s
it should be something like this

nova-s=first recording
pvr500
pvr500with tuner=first live tv

if you add a second nova-s
nova-s=first recording
pvr500
pvr500with tuner=live tv if nova is already recording
nova-s= first live tv but only if not recording already

once you swap over to xmltv(reven) for everything your icons should come back aswell i think
