Seeing as mpeg2 decoding is probably the trickiest thing to get sorted in a pvr, I thought i'd try a poll on what people are using.

added the 10 i though most common - or have i missed out the best one?

NVIDIA Purevideo - seems to playback UK Freeview with the less sync issues on my low-end hardware with PVRX2.exe.

My favourite mpeg decoder isn't on the list. MVP (was PCH 'til it died).

I've *experimented* with the NVidea Platinum and did get eventually very good results but it took a lot of tweaking. Also it wasn't strictly legit so I now use the MPA and MPV decoders (can't see them in the list) They're free, require no setup, keep cropping up as recommended in the forums and seem to be the most reliable I've found.

sub has suggested trying the MPV decoder a few time. ISTR I'm using it on a client in the garage on a fairly lowly box. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post259948
