From 1.2.13 changelog...
Quote:- picture library now auto rotates pictures based on EXIF if it is available in the picture.
Is there an API available for plugins to pick up EXIF info?

No, sorry - its only the Picture Library screen explicitly looks for the orientation info, and isnt exposed via any API. I think there is various C# libraries available though that give the full EXIF on a specified image file though.

Shame... still, it's an opportunity to add another wee project onto the todo list.

Alex - Google 'C# EXIF' (without quotes) if you haven't already done so. I spotted mention of a couple of libraries which may be of use.

Cheers,
Brian

Brian,
I've been having a look and found some stuff - I suppose I need to do a bit of reading about licences now...

If whatever you've found is a precompiled class library and covered by LGPL, as long as you just link to it (i.e., include as a project reference), you're generally OK to use it particulary for a non-paid for application. If you modify the source and recompile the library, things are more complicated, even for LGPL. When you get to GPL things are even stricter and I get confused.

Cheers,
Brian
