Looking at a dvb-s scan cache entry that I found on the forums, the tuning data for one particular channel is shown as
Code:
T:10773,H,22000,56
from this I've worked out that the carr. freq. is 10773, symb. rate is 22000 and polarization is horizontal. At that point I'm OK.

I've also worked out that 56 is an FEC Rate of 5/6 but looking at the DirectShow DVBS Network Provider, I see it has an Inner and Outer FEC Rate setting. Which one applies in this case or is it both?

Also the DVBS NP filter has a 'West Position' parameter is this important and if so how do I know what to set depending on a particular satellite?

Enquiring minds need to know. Big Grin

Cheers,
Brian

I'm away from my code, but I think it was the outer fec.

Just leave it not set.

Are the LNB parameters important or can they be set as 'defaults'?

EDIT: Removed another question. I found the answer 10 minutes after I orinally posted this. sigh!

Yes, you need to set the LNB settings.

If they using diseqc, things get particularly painful since diseqc isnt covered by the BDA spec, and you end up with a custom implementation for each and every manufacturrer. Probably best just to tell people you dont support diseqc at this stage.

Thanks - I'll pull the LNB settings from the gbpvr DB.

I only learned what LNB stood for yesterday - don't even know what diseqc is yet so it definitely isn't supported. Big Grin

One last question (I hope) with the example from my original post
Code:
T:10773,H,22000,56
...what units are the frequency and symbol rate in? I need to submit frequency as KHz and symbol rate as symbols/sec.

Cheers,
Brian

pDVBSLocator->put_CarrierFrequency(10773000);
pDVBSLocator->put_SymbolRate(22000);

One final last question. Big Grin

The high/low LNB frequencies in the gbpvr.db3 are in fields lnb_lof1 and lnb_lof2. Which is the high and which is the low oscillator setting? As I only have dvb-t cards the fields are all set to the same default value so I can't tell.
