I have a WinTV 1800 MCE card, a GeForce 8600 GTS and Windows MCE 2005, running the latest version of GBPVR and DirectX. When I've tried VMR9 I've gotten a message saying my system doesn't support it. With the overlay renderer, I get no response when selecting "Live TV". With EVR I get sound but no picture. This is the second WinTV 1800 card with which I've had the problem (I've had no other cards). I returned the first one and thought the card might be defective, but it works with the WinTV software. Please help.

System:

Dell Dimension 8400 Pentium 4 3.4 GHz with HT
3 GB RAM
2 149 GB SATA HD's in RAID 0
1 additional SATA 149 GB HD
WinTV 1800 MCE
GeForce 8600 GTS
Dell CRT
Creative Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro
.NET 2.0 and 2.0 SP1
Windows MCE 2005 with SP3

stop pvrx2, the recording service and gbpvrtray, delete all the old logs (program files/devnz/gbpvr/logs). restart everything and try live tv then zip and post the new logs. it will help identify what the issue might be. set it to overlay for now as not supporting vmr9 sounds like a graphics card issue, and I think evr is only supported natively by vista.

Try setting the deinterlacing setting (misc tab of config app) to 'encoder pass through'.

It was set to encoder pass-through until this last time but I changed it because I noticed in the logfile that encoder pass-through was not found. But it apparently didn't find "none" either. I think I have also tried setting it to ffdshow but to no avail.

Set it back to 'encoder pass through', and set the video decoder to something other than 'system default', then reproduce the problem and repost the logs.

I'm pretty sure its related to the audio and video decoder you're trying to use. Try installing these well-behaved audio/video decoders, then select these for use on the playback tab of the config app, then try again. If it doesnt work, post the logs again.

Sorry, I dont really know. The logs seem to stop in a particularly odd spot.
