I am using I-xmltv and Schedules Direct for EPG and GBPVR version 1.2.13.

I can see episode number and the date aired in the information but when I set a "Record Season" I do not see an option to record only the new episodes.

Also, how would I record ever episode of "the Simpsons" no matter what time slot and channel they appear on?

The avoid duplicates is setup in the main config.exe program under the capture sources tab.

I don't think there is an option within gbpvr to record all times and channels for a show. There may be something in one of the plugins though.

Martin,

If I select the "Don't Record Duplicates" option in the capture tab, does that make it so that only new episodes are recorded? Or will it stop GBPVR from recording a second episode #2031 if it airs again?

With that option enabled it wont re-record other airings of shows that are already in either the pending or ready list, or were deleted recently.

There is no functionality that specifically only records new episodes of shows - this information is pretty much only available in US/Canada so wasnt worth building functioning that relies on it.

Ok thank you for the reply sub.

Do you know of any plugins that allow recording a single show no matter what channel it appears on?

I thought there was an option when setting a season recording to record all episodes, and then and option to record all episodes on this time slot/channel,

or does the record all episodes only record all episodes on 1 channel not all?

Have a look at Ultraxmltv. It will add a "*" to new episodes if you set it up. This is what I use to only record new shows.

I just started using UltraXMLTV. I've got the * new show turned on. It's convenient for deciding if I want to record or watch a show. How does GBPVR decide that a show should be recorded? IOW, does it match on the title character string (so that "TITLE*" does not match "TITLE") or does it use something else? If I set up to record all of TITLE in a time slot, do I also need to set up to record TITLE*?
