Hello.

I'm having trouble using GBPVR to view either Live TV or recorded shows. Every time I attempt to do either, I get a GPF error and the app hangs.

I'm using a Hauppage WinTV USB2 device. The WinTV2K app from Hauppage works just fine. However, if I try to view the mpeg files directly using Window Media Player, that GPF's too. Other mpeg files created by other applications work fine.

Therefore, I suspect that there is something wrong the the mpeg files themselves.

Specs on the WMP GPF are:
AppName: wmplayer.exe
AppVer 10.0.0.3646
ModName: ivivideo.ax
ModVer: 2.8.21.0

GBPVR Version 23.13

I am using the drivers on the CD that came with the WinTV USB2 unit.

I've tried re-installing both the drivers and GBPVR. No luck.

Does anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Whatever the system default MPEG2 decoder is on your machine is likely to be causing the problem. Try specifically setting an MPEG2 decoder on the playback tab of the config app.

Hi again.

Interesting case:

It was a DVD decoder for WMP that I installed. I wanted to watch DVDs using WMP and downloaded some third party software. Obviously, it was interfering. I'm up and running now. Thanks for the quick replies....

PS:
GBPVR is the perfect solution for any non-american HTPC. The Zap2it guide is perfect for us Canuks. SageTV and other mainstream apps don't seem to cater to anyone other than U.S. areas. Please correct me if I am wrong...
