Hi,

I can't seem to load any other dongle (incl July 16) besides the default Hauppauge dongle that came with v 3.4.25345. Onscreen, I get as far as the http://www.mvpmc.org splash screen with the 3 red, 2 green and white/blue blocks and no further. My server is running Vista x64.

log attached.

Hope that someone can help!

regards

Paul

I think performance on your network is too slow. I'm pretty sure that the Hauppauge firmware gives up loading the dongle after 30 seconds. If you are here from the Hauppauge UK forums I think you mentioned a wireless network and that is the likely cause.

Note if it takes this long to load you likely will have problems with many videos too even with the Hauppauge dongle.

paul, you might have a look at the patched version of pvrx2.exe from here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=6

Hi both,

Thanks for your replies. I've connected the MVP to a wired network and it loaded first time!

thanks!

The dongle is only required for users of the Hauppauge MediaMVP client device. It isnt relevent to the Popcorn Hour. The 'dongle' is effectively a linux image (kind of like firmware) that is downloaded and run when the MVP is first powered up. The equivalent is stored permanently on the Popcorn Hour, and doesnt need to be downloaded when the device is booting.

Dongle in this case is the software loaded into the Hauppauge MVP media extender. This device contains only a boot loader and can load either the Hauppauge dongle or the MVPMC 3rd party replacement.

The PCH is all self-contained and just needs a couple of scripts and programs to enable use with gbpvr.

Bugger - beaten to it again!

Thank both of your for the quick replies!!! I'm glad I asked - that's one less thing I need to worry about for the PCH! Wish me luck! I'm looking forward to getting a guide and recording capabilites on my PCH! (Hauppauge HD-PVR 1600 tuner card)... I'm sure I'll be back with some further questions though... Rolleyes

Hello,

Has anyone else run into mvpmc dongle boot issues since upgrading to gbpvr 1.2.13? When booting into the media mvp I get the mvpmc splash screen; however, the boot fails to complete and the media mvp like reboots itself. It's stuck in an endless loop of mvpmc splash screen, reboot. I never make it to the GBPVR main menu screen.

Any ideas of what happened or what's going on? Also, now when I make changes in the gbpvr config settings, GBPVR does not save my changes. It just freezes and in the end I get an application "not responding" message.

If I had to guess you don't have your DHCP set up properly, compress and upload your logs and I will have a look.

Since mvpmc gets transferred I don't think the config.xml is bad which is one explanation for config crashing, but I thing sub might need to look at this too. There seems to be a lot of trouble with config crashing on exit recently.
