Dongle resets

What mechanism can reset the dongle name in config back to the default 'dongle.bin'? I have seen this happen on two different systems, now. The last was on a friend's system and he doesn't fiddle!

OK, it is easy to fix by renaming mvpmc.bin, say, to dongle.bin but I was just curious.

I'm not aware of anything that would cause this.

Maybe a Vista virtual Store issue?

Bang on, Martin! Just got back from his place and found that the config.xml was dated 11 Feb 2008 and EVERYTHING was reset, including zero mvp servers! Sort of explained why the mvp wouldn't connect.

What happened was that he took MS's advice to set back the security to default (I had turned off UAC) and I guess GBPVR lost control of the config file and created a brand new one. I couldn't find the config file in virtual store but, nonetheless, I am satisfied that the mystery has been solved.
