Hi, I know that you hgave said there is a bug / poor drivers for ATI for H264 hardware decoding which cause green screens.

I notice that when I try to play a couple of channels in GBPVR, I get this (sports extra, C4, TVNZ 6 & 7) and GBPVR reports the video resolution as 1047 x 576.

Is this what causes the problem? (on the PCH, it's reported correctly as 720 x 576) and all of the channels which work are HD resolutions & above.

Would this H264 acceleration bug become better using Vista, or would it be expected to stay the same? (this is a HD3450 PCI-e card)

Thanks

No, this is not the cause. This resolution info is read from the frame info being passed to the renderer, and I'm aware that the resolution is sometimes read wrong, but nothing is done with this info other than logging.

The problem is something to do with either the video card or it's driver's handling of DXVA2.0, rather than an application thing.

From what I've heard, the same problem is present on Vista with ATI devices. Nvidia devices dont have the same problem.

Yup, I can confirm that the "greening" happens with me using the HD3450 card on some channels (TV6,7 etc.) using Vista 32 bit with the latest catalyst drivers.

Cheers.
Guess I'll look around for an Nvidia card. (or wait to see if ATI will update their drivers..)
