I have an issue on my client where i seem to be getting green blocks/artifacts appearing at random times in most of my ts QAM recordings.

Is is different for each show and can me minimal with very little annoyance to happening frequently throughout the recording.

I am using a 790GX board with onboard video hd3300

This only occurs in GBPVR any other player and all is fine no green blocks Also no green blocks on my Server, but i use a 8600gt for video playback there.

Also tried different decoders, with all the different renderers and i get the same results with all of them

So just wondering if there is anything i can do about the green blocks flashing on my screen or am i stuck wih it.

If you play the same recording in Windoes media player on that machine, do you see the same problem? I would have thought so. GB-PVR is not doing the playback itself, and just askes Directshow to do the playback, which uses the decoders/renderers on your machine. Another app using the same components should show the same results.

Mostly green screens, or green blocks, is problem I occasionally see mentioned in relationship to ATI hardware acceleration. It possible you're not getting hardware acceleration in the other apps you tried, so not seeing the same thing.

Is there a way to disable accelleration im not using EVR only VRM9 fse

i will do some testing and see what happens.

Also what happens if haali is the decoder used for my ts recordings in WMP i thought GBPVR uses its own?

Neither GB-PVR or Haali are decoders. Both act as a 'source filter' providing data to down-stream decoders and renderers. Its these down-stream components that are responsible for decoding each video frame, and displaying it on the screen, which is where things seem to be going wrong for you.

Some decoders have a settings page which allow you to turn off/on acceleration. Depending on how the decoder does it though, some of these settings might not work, but you can give it a go with the settings button next to the decoder selection in the config app.

Its just odd

I just tested a recording and in WMP plays fine,

In GBPVR green blocks flashing, it is minor but can be annoying at times, i have tried to diable the HA in the only 2 decoders i know of that have setting and it doesnt really change anything

not sure if there is anything to do its just strange that it works fine in one and not the other

Some decoders store their settings on a per-application basis, so when you change the HA setting in Config.exe, that setting change doesnt apply when you use PVRX2.exe.

If you're on XP, see if the problem is their with EVR.

Unfortunately XP and I didnt get a long very well on this build, and get better playback with vista ala no jitteryness on any recordings, but when testing it out i do not recall having this issue in XP only in vista

Well i turns out that it is the decoder i was using and managed to get FFdshow to work on the client after enabling mpeg2 decoding (thought FFdshow didnt work but i didnt pay attention to what was enabled and disabled)

So no more green blocks and everything is working fine, i also read this link for greater detail on setting up FFdshow and it is working great for me http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=719041
