Itâs been awhile since Iâve played with GBPVR. It is good to see that it is still an excellent experience. Got things all up and running and I want to fine tune the experience. I am rebuilding a standalone computer with a PVR-150 that I want to act like a âTVâ with a âTIVOâ. By that I mean that when you use the remote to turn ON the âTVâ it comes on watching Live TV. If you want the âTIVOâ functions you push the âTIVOâ button on the remote â navigate around the menu with the remote up/down/enter button. Then use the remote to turn OFF the âTVâ. No keyboard or mouse use for âTV/TIVOâ operation.
As an option when I press the power button on the remote it mutes sound, turns off monitor and puts computer in power saving mode (hibernate or standby???) assuming that whatever power savings mode itâs placed in it can still update EPG, record shows and when I press the power button on the remote to turn it all back on, that it doesnât take more than a couple seconds to wake it up and be watching Live TV.
Iâve used NirCmd to mute audio and turn off monitor (although monitor comes back on in 5 â 10 seconds because Live TV is still active I believe). I could use a script to send an ESC (take out of Live TV), mute audio, then turn monitor OFF and assign this all to the Power button. However, I believe I want the Power button to be a toggle command so that one time it turns things off and the next time it turns things on.
Can I detect what mode (ie; Live TV, TV Guide, DVD, etc) GBPVR is in while itâs running? AND while itâs running can I send it commands to go to a certain mode?
ORâ¦is there another solution that others are using?
