I was hoping that somebody here might be able to help me. I've been trying to troubleshoot this myself by reading through these forums with no luck. I am able to get as far as running gbpvr but that's where I run into problems. All I'm trying to do right now is play a ripped dvd movie stored on the gbpvr server. When I go to play it, it looks like it's going to work but it reverts back to the "Video Library". The firewall is completely disabled I even re-shared the directory many times hoping that would fix it. I attached my logs in hopes that somebody could easily pinpoint my problem. Thanks in advance

I would assume you have something like this in script.cgi

Code:
mkdir /mnt/C\:\\Movies
mount -t cifs \\192.168.11.101\Sharename /mnt/C\:\\Movies -o username=guest

To confirm the share is working could you telnet to your PCH and issue these commands to confirm it is setup correctly

ls /mnt

ls /mnt/C\:\\Movies

I had something like that previously but took it out not knowing if it should be there or not. I went ahead and put it back in but I still get the same results. When I do run telnet on the NMT it says "mkdir cannot create directory" but I'm still able to get into gbpvr. And yes I reset the NMT after I changed the script.cgi I ran the commands you requested with the following results.

BusyBox v1.5.0 (2008-07-10 18:07:27 MYT) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

/ # ls /mnt
C:\Movies \\192.168.11.101\Movies syb8634
D:\Movies lost+found
/ #
/ # ls /mnt/C\:\\Movies
/ #
/ #

Is this the resonse I was supposed to get. I attached more logs as well as the config file. Thanks

Sorry my syntax was wrong you want this

mount -t cifs //192.168.11.101/Movies /mnt/C\:\\Movies -o username=guest

(assuming the sharename is Movies)

Don't worry about the error message on script.cgi

Looks like I jumped the gun. I had a minor typo in the script.cgi. After fixing it seems to working fine now, thank you. Do I need to do something special to run .iso images as well? I tried running one from the same directory but it freezes on the Popcorn Hour screen.

No it will use the same share. My guess it is a share permission error. I can check the log to confirm if you have problems.

If you don't mind checking. It works fine on ripped DVD's with the VOB's now (Thanks to You). But when I try an ISO from the same directory it stays on the Popcorn Hour screen as soon as I try to play it. If I press stop I am able to get back to the gbpvr screen.

It is possible that it won't run from the root of the share. Could you try moving it into a subfolder?

Tried that, no go. I'll play around with it some more. Worst case I can just extract all my ISO's. Thanks for all the help

Ok, but I was reading on the NMT forums that iso for whatever reason are better.

Check to see if the file is visible with

ls /mnt/C\:\\Movies

ls /mnt/C\:\\Movies/DVD_VIDEO.ISO

and if not try

find /mnt/C\:\\Movies -name *ISO

and finally

find /mnt/C\:\\Movies -name *iso
