Hi all!

I have installed the latest version of GBpvr and managed to get it scan, well I have managed to crash (crash being the operative word) my way through the scan, and whilst scanning I have a preview window showing the current channel.

Once the scan is completed I can go back in as i I were to scan again but click on the the channel list, the channel appears in the preview window, so all looks good yeah!

Well obviously not because after doing all that I go into the main application and live tv for it show nothing at all but a message saying no signal Sad how can this be??

I am attempting to replace media portal with somthing that's more stable is this the wrong way to go, it has to be able to do a server client thing and this does it seems Smile

I am hoping than wnen this is up and running that it will indeed be a more stable solution, as good as mediaportal is, the TVservice is all over place crashing left right and center.

When you get a problem, it's always worth attaching your logs and giving a bit of detail about your hardware setup...

Crashes - have you installed the patch from the survival thread - post nr 7 ?

When the scan has finished have you mapped the found channels like this?

yeah Sorry, but before I do, I must just say that I have moved on slightly, I now find that when I record a channel and then go back to the guide and try to change channel, it states that the card is being used to record another channel and would I lilke to watch the channel being recorded.

At this point if I say yes, I can then view the channel, but only when it's being recorded it seems.

This all sounds normal (assuming you've only got one card). Whats the remaining problem? Are you saying you cant watch live tv? If so, what happens when you try?

After some more fiddling around I can watch the live TV, but I have to make sure that in the config the preview option is disabled otherwise I can't watch any channel unless it's recording.

I'm getting there at least, it still remains to be seen how stable this is. I really hope it can be as I would like to replace mediaportal as it's driving me mad with the crashes.

Oh and yes I did map the channels as above.

On the crash you had in the scan, make sure you have this patch from the survival guide: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=7

For the live preview problem, try this recommendation from the survival guide: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=8

Thanks for all your suggestions, I have applied all those, but it still hasn't made any difference.

It just means that the use live preview mode if possible has to be left disabled, I'm not really sure what that does exactly anyway.

The stuff I really have left now is the picture quality, that's not that good and it keeps freezing as well. and just to see how stable this thing is, I have a mediapc under the telly at the moment running client for mediaportal, I'm looking to replace that with something that doesn't need rebooting every hour

Any picture quality issues will most likely come down to the decoders you're using. GB-PVR doesnt install any decoders, so just depends on decoders you already have one your machine. So experiment with different audio/video decoder options on the playback tab of the config app.

If you want to reproduce the live preview problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log, then I'm happy to take a look.
