Tried setting <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview> true but often when I initially try to tune a HD DVB-S channel from the EPG I get no video. The work-around is just to go back to the EPG and re-select the channel and it works.

Nothing springs to mind, but zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Do you get audio, or are both video and audio missing when this happens?

I cant see anything obvious in the logs.

Does it do the same thing with VMR9? or with other video decoders?

I am still troubleshooting this - tried VMR and different video decoders but the same behavior persists. I am wondering if the Re-use MDAPI Filter option which I have enabled could be the problem (my setup won't work with it disabled).

Old versions of the MDAPI filter used to need this because they'd only work the first time you created an instance of the MDAPI Filter, so to allow you to use you to stop and restart tv without restarting the app it cached a single instance that was reused each time. These old versions crashed when you tried to shut them down, so reusing it an never shutting it down was a way to get around them being buggy. The newest versions dont need this

I've read that other thread, but I'm sure there is no GB-PVR bug relating to the tray icon. If you use the 'reuse MDAPI filter' setting, then it'll never shut down the MDAPI filter (for fear of crash message that would follow immediately after with old version), and this could lead to the icon being left behind. In new versions you dont need to do this reusing.
