I had just recently moved in last couple of months and decided to get my PVR back online this weekend as the new season starts tonight. Decided to redo the computer as it had been a long time since it was cleaned up. Everything went well with the reinstall of GBPVR 1.2.9. I had to change my Schedules Direct lineups because I am now in a different area. Scheduled a couple of recordings and all I get is a black 'screen' recording. I disconnected the cable and I get static recordings which makes sense. I double checked my Schedule Direct lineups and everything is fine. Check my capture device EPG listings and everything is there, but when I check the 'channels' tab in the config, I am missing channels and have extra channels there not in my lineup. Also when I look at the TV Guide in GBPVR, I am missing several channels and the channels that are there are not in order.

I have 2 HVR1600's in a Dual P3 1GHZ machine. I doubt it is a problem with the computer as I had it all working before I moved. I have my cable line hooked up to a splitter. Two outputs to my HVR1600's and one to the STB. The STB is working fine.

Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I've decided to start from scratch again. If I have any problems after reformatting and reinstalling I will be back. With all the problems I've been having I think this software is STILL GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I redid my computer and I came up with the same problem. After a day of checking the system and researching the internet, I came up with what the problem was and solution. I had a IRQ conflict and by replacing my PCI video for an AGP video, IRQ conflict went away, system is running and so is GBPVR. Now I have another problem. I remote into the computer using VNC because using RDP wouldn't load the GUI due to VRM9 error. So using VNC everything was fine, EXCEPT.....I CAN'T PLAY the mpg recording with neilter WMP11 or VL player, only through GBPVR. Anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed?

Can you want any .mpg files successfully on your machine?

I must because it plays in GBPVR, but not in WMP11 and VL payer. Another thing I should mention. The computer has no keyboard nor mouse. Reason is that it will be behind the TV, thats why I want to remote into it. When I have a keyboard and mosue hooked up to it, the MPG's play fine, but not remotely, except through GBPVR.

Ah, I misread. I thought it wasnt working in GB-PVR either.

If it plays in GB-PVR then it sounds like there is nothing wrong with the recordings, or GB-PVR (so not a problem for me to worry about Big Grin). If its not playing in WMP, then it is most likely something to do with the default MPEG2 decoder on your machine.

But if I hook up a keyboard, mouse and monitor and work on it directly(not remotely) then the mpg's play in GBPVR, WMP11 and VLplayer.

Dont do it over VNC then.

It probably because of the video renderer used by those apps. GB-PVR uses VMR that apps (like VNC) can take screenshots of the video. WMP and VLC are probably using Overlay, where apps cant take screenshots.

If I use Remote Desktop(like suggested in another thread to use VNC instaead) then I get the VRM9 loading error.

Yes, this is well known. VMR9 is only possible when you have a Vista machine which you're remote desktop'ing into.

You dont really watch the video through this remote access though, so does it matter if you dont see the video when started via VNC?
