Can someone please clarify to me the relationship between the following batch files. They are all related to the EPG but I don't know when each is run and which application calls them.

UpdateEPG.bat: I believe this is run each time GBPVR wishes to update the EPG. In it my bat file has a line which calls xmltv-run.bat.

Two additional batch files I found in the GBPVR directory are PostUpdateEPG.bat and PostProcessing.bat.

I can't find any information about when each of these files are called and at what point in the processing they are called.

If it exists, UpdateEPG.bat is called before the EPG is updated.

If it exists, PostUpdateEPG.bat is called after the EPG is updated.

If it exists, PostProcessing.bat is called after a recording has completed. This is not EPG related.

None of these files exists in a default install of GB-PVR.

Thanks for the quick, succinct reply. That helps me a lot when I review what is in these files and whether I want them to even exist.

They may not be in a default install of GBPVR, but over time with all the plug-ins etc I have installed, they exist now.

This got me to thinking.

Is there a utility that would allow me to log which capture card was used to record each program. I have two analog capture cards, both set up to use the same program guide. Sometimes I get a poor recording and it would be useful to know which card was used to record the program.

There is no existing utility that would tell you that, but this info is in the recording service logs.

Thanks for pointing me to that file. That would give me what I want.

I looked at my logs. They are set to log on ERRORs and that info wasn't in them. Tomorrow, when GBPVR isn't recording, I will experiment with the other settings to see which one to use.
