Hi, My previous crash was out of space.

My new question is how to change the recording directory. I changed it to a different drive, but its still recording on the original one. I went into config, directories tab and change recording directory. But the recording is still in the old directory.

Thanks

Are you saying the config app doesnt seem to be remembering the recording directory you try to set (and keeps reverting to the old setting), or that the app ignores it and recordings to a directory other than that shown in the config app?

The app seems to ignore it.

I did have it set to l:\mediacenter\recording
I changed it to t:\mediacenter\recording
(L: was full)

Config remembers. I can close, restart and reload and it shows T:\......

But the recording still goes into L:\.

I presume restarting the service is all I need to do?

Yes, hitting the ok button in the config app will do this.

Do a recording then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

config.xml and logs

in Config.exe set dir to t:\mediacenter\record
in logs picking up l:\mediacenter\record and recordings going in there.

Recording called testlogs

Maybe check if you've got any unexpected copies of config.xml sitting in other directories. The config.xml that is being used by the recording service definitely has it set to L:\mediacenter\record.

or maybe you're on vista?

I'll do a full scan for config.xml

as for vista Rolleyes . I was on 0.99.5 yesterday of GBPVR Smile . Vista is something I will do my best to avoid.

Still XP. Was thinking of that mythtv, but then couldn't see any reason to go over. No harm in keeping one winxp box.

Just one comment, very impressed how you handled the upgrades.
Started at 0.99.5 with mdb database - yesterday. Had to go via 1.0.8 then to 1.2.13. ChangeDatabase worked fine too. Very smooth. If I hadn't run out of disk space would have been completely quiet.

How weird found one in system32 directory for 1.2.13. Will try deleting that shortly. Have a recording just now. And two others in other directories.
