I left it to play live tv through live preview all night.
I had been using the system for a couple of hours before that.
I got up this morning and the picture was all wavy and fuzzy.
I changed channels and it kept doing it.
I tried to use the guide to change channels, and it locked up the computer.
No keyboard, no mouse.
Rebooted and it all looks fine now.
attached logs. from when it happened and after reboot.
Any ideas?

I'm not really sure what that'd be. It looks like some sort of decoding problem, but who knows.

I've got almost exactly the same thing happening on my system, with one addition possibly not mentioned by the first poster -- my sound when the GBPVR process is up is "staticy", like something is playing a "click" sound very rapidly. I've walked through various combinations of the PVRX2.exe Video Renderer and GBPVR.exe Video Renderer; they all do the same thing.

Logs are attached.....dang this is weird. Thanks for looking at this!

Steve

I discovered something in this whole thing.

I first rolled back GBPVR to an older release to see if it still happened there, and it didn't make any difference--I still had the problem.

On a hunch I then reinstalled my video drivers--and the problem went away!

I've got an Nvidia 7600GS. The drivers I'm using are the most recent ones I could find, 10/07/2008 6.14.11.7824.

What I assume is going on is that GBPVR is stepping on some part of the driver, since the reinstall of the driver fixed it. It must be something semi-permanent because both restarting GBPVR or reinstalling it didn't help at all.

At least I have a workaround, though I'm not crazy about it.....

I have a minor update that I hope helps the fine GBPVR folks looking at this in tracking it down.

When I brought up the machine last night I did NOTHING else but start GBPVR--didn't open email, a browser, nothing like that. No wavy lines or weird sounds occurred for over an hour's worth of TV time.

A few minutes after opening Outlook, the problem started. As before I reinstalled the drivers and rebooted the system.

I watched TV for another hour or so, no problems. When I started Firefox to perform some tasks, the problem manifested a few minutes later when I closed Firefox.

Reinstalled, rebooted.

This time I began actively using apps immediately when the system came up. GBPVR was good for about 10 minutes, then went wonky.

Something's not playing nice with *something*, as near as I can tell.

Hope that helps.

Odd, I built a dedicated machine for gbpvr, so it doesn't get used for anything else.
I have it boot to full screen mode and don't do anything else.
Also if I exit out of it, or go to a menu, it looks normal. Though the second time I did it, windows did look funny.
Might see about the driver.
