Having trouble setting up PCH.

have followed the insructions posted on wiki, but stuck on telent testing.

PCH is running latest firmware, downloaded today.

I have edited the telnethtml file with the new format

<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/MT490:mvpvc/script.cgi">Telnetd</a>
<BR>
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/MT490:mvpvc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR</a>

where MT490 is the GBPVR server name and mvpvc the share name.

I can access the telnet.html from the PCH cource screen but when I select telnet I get the message Request Cannot be Processed, press return key to return to previous screen.

any ideas?

Did you update script.cgi with the recommended editor? If not could you compress and upload it please.

Martin, yes I used the editor suggested. I have attached the script though.

Nothing unusual. Instead of guest did you try these choices

-o username=root,ro
-o username=root,rw

from memory yes I tried those options, is it worth changing the username and password to a valid user on the XP box?

You should use exactly the same user id and password you use to create the Media Source on the PCH.

Martin have tried that still no joy, I set the name in the PCH share as guest and blank, and set the script.cgi to be the same.

Would it be wort trying to put these files on the PCH HDD?

is so what is the default username and passoword to connect from the PC?

thanks Steve

The best way to find out what is happening is load telnet and then go back to NMT interface and select the mvpmc share again, when you have loss it.
If you type this

mount

You should see how the NMT connected. You can zip and upload a screen capture if you'd like.

Martin you have lost me with the last post.

I cant load telnet as this is the part that's failing, unless you mean open the telent file and leave the two options on the screen and return to the nmt menu?

you also mention screen grab which I assume you mean from the PC, so not sure what to do where.

sorry if I'm being thick.

I have also just installed GBPVR on another box which is clean xp install, but still no joy.

Martin

A thought, is it something to do with the section "localhost.drives:8883" in telent

<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20steve@MT490:mvpvc/script.cgi">Telnet</a>
<BR>
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20steve@MT490:mvpvc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR</a>

if I change drives to hard_drive_a which is the name given when formatting the screen just goes white when telent is selected, just a guess.

I await your response

thanks

Steve
