The server is 1.3.7 and the client is 1.2.13.

I can not record live TV or watch a recording on the client. When watching live TV, I can see on the server side that the tuner is tuned to the correct channel.

With .ts files there is no audio or video. with dvr-ms, I can hear audio, but no video. I can watch .dvr-ms recorded shows with the VLC program though.

Am I missing a decoder of some sort on the client?

The client and the server really need to be the same version, so I'd try that first.

I was having the same problem with 1.2.13 on the server as well. I've now upgraded the client to 1.3.7 to match the server, and I'm having the same problems.

Note that when I upgraded to 1.3.7 on the client, I had to reconfigure it. It lost it's client configuration and thought it was a server again.

Try watching a recording, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

ISTR .ts not supported (yet?) on pc client.

For info - client on 1.3.x, server on 1.2.13 seems to work fine. (spot the coward who updates his client first) Big Grin

Hmmm.. this thread sounds like what I was trying to do.

I was experimenting with the client mode of gbpvr

What I wanted was a client machine to display closed captions.

I had the server going, with working closed captions with no issues using the intervideo nonCSS codec and enabled gbpvr option "CC" with vmr7/9/intervideo.

But when I tried to use the intevideo codecs on the client, I would get a black screen on the client. I then tried the mpv codec and that worked fine. I was about to post if I need the hauppauge card in order to use the intevideo codecs.

But seeing someone else is getting issues with the black screen during play back/live tv, try a different codec. Maybe you'll get the same result maybe you won't, I don't know.

OK, I watched a ms-dvr show for about 45 seconds then exited.

Thanks for your help.

Streaming mode is only compatible with .mpg files, so you'd need to be using the ATI or Cyberlink mux. You can use the TS Mux with 'file sharing mode'. You cant use the DVR-MS mux with either.

OK, I switched to file sharing mode and tried to play a .ts recording. Now I get audio, but still no video.

Where can I get the ATI or Cyberlink mux? I checked the thread with all the links to muxes, but all the links appear to be dead now.

Post the logs and I'll take a look.
