After upgrading to 1.3.7 whenever I try to 'Map Digital Channels to EPG' config.exe crashes when scanning. It seems to be able to get to channel 14 of 138 then crashes every time. (Channel 14 is also the first channel that displays any signal strength) I tried a fresh install but that did not change my luck.

If i put the .cache file that used to work with 1.2.13 in the BDA folder, config crashes immediately upon opening the Map channels screen. If I'm quick enough I can press the 'Stop' button and can map to channels in the old .cache file. After doing this I can then make TS files but there is no audio/video and pvrx2 crashes. (I believe pvrx2 crashing is a separate problem but mention it in case its related)

Any ideas on why the scanning might be crashing config?

Thanks.
Logs and windows crash error attached.

Yeah, I'm having the same issues but I make it to channel 84 vefore it crashes. Unfortunately with Sub out of the country for a while we're probably out of luck for a while.

I am having the same issue, I opened a thread already.
Maybe you want to try what someone suggested to me until Sub comes back.
I stil have a problem using the suggested method, maybe you guys have an answer to it and it will help everyone.

I actually got mine to scan! It seems tied in with the qam signal strength - if I try scanning as normal it crashes at around channel 85, however I put an ampliefier on today and wahlah! I can scan all the channels! I take the amp off, it crashes at 85, put it on it scans.

I thought of that too, I have an AMP in line and still have the problem.

From what i understand placing the .cache file in the BDA folder allows me to use the scan info from the older version. That allows me to watch some of the channels (that i know exist) but i cant look for any new channels.

Thanks for the reply's I guess I'll have to wait for Sub to get back.

Yeah, I'm putting the 1600 away till Sub gets back.

It's frustrating since the analog cards work so easily.

You'd think the qam would work easily too as all the new tvs come with qam tuners and I haven't heard of anyone having these issues with them. I even borrowed one to play with and it works flawlessly on the clear qam on our system so it is possible to make a less picky qam tuner.

Oh well, clear qam still isn't overly common here yet. I'm sure as more and more systems switch over to digital only that these bugs will get worked out.

Its not tied to the crc errors in the advanced box, that is assuming you are using dvb-s though

It sounds like there i something in the stream on channel 24 that GB-PVR doesnt like. If I was back home, I'd suggest capturing a 100MB or so full transport stream for CH14 that I could download and run in the debugger.

Instead you could try copying back your old .cache file and but removing the first line from it.

I tried deleting the first channel from the .cache file but no luck, it still crashes immediately when i get to the map channel screen.

is this something i can do? I have Visual studio 2008 student Edition or 2005 express if that would work. or is there another video specific debugger that I should/could use?
