Morning all,

I bought a FireDTV satellite receiver some time ago and only recently had time for a quick play.

I have downloaded the latest version of GBPVR and have a CAM with an old Sky card to receive the free-to-view channels on Sky's Freesat. I have installed the newest version of GBPVR (which incidentally doesn't seem to install 100% successfully on my Vista Ultimate 32 bit system). I can go the the config and the DVB option for EPG. I've tuned into Astra 2 and the util has picked up the FireDTV, I can even see channels appear in the preview. However, GBPVR states it has found no channels and nothing gets added.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated

GB-PVR doesnt support CAM modules, but it should find the channels. These channels can be viewed via multidec plugins though.

Okay I've gone backto the Wiki and assume I need to load in the EPG stuff first, so I am following the instructions for XMLTV, http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/Xmltv.

I've changed the Recording Source to digital recording plugin and changed the settings to use my FireDTV hardware and scan Astra 2A, 2B, 2D.

Currently loading the EPG file

Still no joy with the scan. I must be doing something wrong so any help please.

I know it should work as the app that comes with the FireDTV hardware is grabbing channels (I haven't configured the CAM so shouldn't make a difference between FireView or GBPVR)

I have the channels added to the EPG via the XMLTV interface from the associated XML file.

I've selected the foloowing:

Recording Source = Digital Recording Plugin
> Capture Card = FireDTV
> Country = All Countries
> Scan = Astra 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D

EPG Source = XMLTV Plugin

Channel Change = No Channel Changer Required

Do a scan then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll see if anything stands out.

Try running ReRegisterFilters.bat, then try again.

Paul

I use a single fireDTV with no CAM to watch the FTA channels off the Astra 2 cluster [Im in the UK]. I have no problems and GB-PVR works for me. The only small issue I have is it misses BBC3 & 4 during a scan -- but I use someone elses scan.cache and all works OK.

I use the XMLTV GUI tool and download my EPG from the RT site.

I assume you are using the latest fireDTV drivers [4.5.N] and you are not running Vista in 64 bit. Does the FireDTV application work before trying to use GB-PVR ?

Yes Dave I can watch TV via FireDTV's own utility. I am running Vista 32bit rather than 64bit.

I am now thinging that the initial install may have been the problem as it didn't complete successfully but all binaries appear to be there and run
