I had to reinstall Windows XP (now using XP Pro). Ever since installing GBPVR 1.3.7, whenever I try to schedule a season recording or a one time recording of a show , I have no option to encode the .mpg into something else. There is no selection for XviD, DivX, WMV, etc. What might have caused this?

There is no functionality that does this in the application. I did acidentally leave this setting in the schedule recording screen a couple of releases ago, but it was never completed and didnt function. It was something I'd started working on at the time of a release.

OK so that option never worked, but my recordings are still not being converted even though I have XviD selected for all 3 auto-convert selections in the Processing tab in CONFIG.

Check to see if you can manually transcode using the same xvid profile, when you select the mpg in the video library. If it's not working, that would be a tip off that you might need to tweak the settings...

If that profile works, then it will also work with auto transcode feature...

Well something is not working. Here is the XviD line from config.xml...

Code:
<Conversion name="XviD" cmd="-y -i {SOURCE_FILE} -f avi -ab 224 -ac 2 -acodec libmp3lame -deinterlace -vcodec xvid -qscale 7 -vtag XVID {DEST_FILE}" targetExtension="2.avi" />

Now, I wanna say that I mostly use ZProcess, but ZProcess should be using the very same defaults as should be listed in your config.

I'm going to try both ways ffmpeg or ZProcess, (default and third party) and see what we might have to tweak.

Can you tell me about the type of source file What's the bitrate, PAL or NTSC, anything else for me to recreate the same type of recorded file.

Also, if I can't, maybe you can make available for download a test file...

Edit: notice you in USA, that should make things a bit easier (not PAL for instance)... What tuner card and TV source are you using?

What type of files are you trying to convert from? If its .dvr-ms, then you need to hav ethe Cyberlink mux installed.

Source files are just the standard .mpg recording from GBPVR. I am not sure how to tell what the bit rate is for it.

I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800 for my TV Tuner and I am using the CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD8) from the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.

I can't upload a sample as my web server doesn't allow .mpg files and it is too big for the forums here.

If you zip and attach your logs, I'll see if it is trying to run the conversion.

If you are using the default encoding settings, then it's no sweat. While sub checks the logs, I'll check the ffmpeg line...
