Running 1.3.7 on WinXP
Using the "mc2xml" epg source
Since I have only basic cable, I end up with lots of channels that I don't actually receive.
Disabling the channels I don't receive, in config | capture sources | edit recording source, makes them not appear in the TV Guide, but they still appear in the Search Guide area.
Deleting the channels in config makes them disappear from the Search Guide, but they come back by themselves and when they do, they appear in the TV Guide again too.

Am I missing a config option somewhere?

Ok, I'll fix thius for trhe next release.

The best thing you can do in the short term is configure you xmltv program to only generate the list of channels you intend to use.

I saw the same thing when using SearchWiz under 1.2.13 - namely that you would find programs from disabled channels when searching. I solved it by removing channels from my EPG data before GBPVR sees it. AFAICT, GBPVR puts all guide data into the db, regardless of whether the channel is disabled in config. That would slow down my system, so I've worked hard to keep out any guide data for channels I don't want or can't receive. I try not to have any disabled channels in config.

with mc2xml you can use a -C channel.chl file to denote only the channels you wish to have downloaded...Smile [make sure to use a capital -C! as -c is for country]

also, i've noticed lately that i had to redo my mc2xml.dat file by specifying country and zip again or it wouldn't dl any new listings...[started last week]
i think we may have to refresh that every so often..

I'll try the -C option with mc2xml for now and I appreciate the author looking into this. Thanks for the great program!
