I have recently been smacked by the demise of the yahoo with yapixml feed dilemma. I loaded up MC2XML, which seems to do a nice job. HOWEVER, I can't get rid of the old entries when I switch over to the new xml source. So instead of CBS being on channel 2, it's on CBS channel 2 and 2 CBS channel 1435. I tried going in there and messing with channel numbers, and reassigning stuff and deleting entries but it sucks to high heaven. I think it's now easier to just blast it all and spend 5 hours redoing it again. BUT I don't know how to erase it all and make it new. Emptying EPG doesn't do it. Is there an easy way, PLEEEEAASEE :confused:

If you're switching epg in the US, its recommended you: backup your recordings-dump.xml file, rename gbpvr.db3 to gbpvr.old, run the config app and setup your capture sources in the new empty database, then reimport your recoridngs.

I don't have any pending recordings, just existing ones. In that case, how can I "clear" out the existing channels to make room for the new ones? It's ok if there's not an easy way, I'll just deactivate and renumber them manually..just checking if there's an easy wipe out way.

Thanks.

At the end of the process you should have your exists 'ready' recordings, and your season recordings. The 'pending' recordings for your season recordings should appear after the EPG update. You should have a close look check though, because some of the channel name differences can cause you season recordings to not be listed (ie, wasnt able to find a channel name that match that used by the season recording).

there's an app on the wiki that should help with the epg change mess..
one of the Wiz apps..i forget the name...but it works great for all the stuff needed for epg changeovers...
[it can get rather confusing having to go thru every channel adjusting]

When you change listing providers, it's like changeing TV Providers.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc40

It backs up and restores your recordings and scheduled recordings, but does not force you to delete the database and start over with settings...

Make sure that mc2xml is configured and installed into the capture sources correctly.

The batch file takes a little whiule depending on how big your xmltv is...

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...
