Hi

I started using this software 2 days ago and all was good, I could never get the picture play back from within GBPVR but VLC or media player were playing the MPEG2 files with no issues.

I wanted to convert the Mpeg 2 files into AVIs so I downloaded and installed VirtualDubMod and started converting to AVI files. In the process I also updated my DivX codec.

My problems started last night when I had a few files scheduled to record overnight. All the files recorded as expected the problem is that there is no sound on these files Sad picture is fine just no audio. note that PC audio is fine, like I can listen to MP3s.

I tried updating the MPEG2 codec, I also tried Gspot that told me that the codec is installed, I reinstalled AC3 filter I also removed the capture source and reinstalled it, I uninstalled the GBPVR and reinstalled it and still no luck.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do, any help would be appreciated.

My HTPC has a Haupagge PVR 150 card, and I installed it a week ago to record from Antenna.

I am running the latest version of the software, and I have no plugins. I am using djkxml for my XML TVguide.

TIA

Lance

If the audio is missing on the recordings when played back in both GB-PVR and VLC, then it sounds like your PVR150 isnt generating audio for some reason. I'd try looking for updated drivers.

Thanks for the reply mate, I only installed the card last week as its a new purchase and I had installed the latest drivers and it was working for a couple of days until yesterday. I will install the latest drivers and report back.

I am running XP SP2 by the way

before you get to carried away check what audio renderer you are using oin your machine
if you have another pc or laptop try playing the file on there
do the files you recorded earlier still work ?
you are better to try mpeg video files than mp3 there may be filter/decoder that has taken over so when you play video the audio is not working

Or if you have access to a web server, you can put a small sample .mpg recording for download and I'll try playing it here.

Update - I reinstalled the driver and the problem appear to have been fixed HOWEVER now I cant 'tune' the card!!!

I have my EPG XML file which I configured and it imports the right channels with the correct program description. When I try to record I always seem to be recording One channel (C4) regardless of what I select from the TVGuide

Sound is working however which is a bonus. but now I cant record any channel or program except as regardless of I select its permanently tuned to this one channel?

I am using djkxml, I deleted all the cache files and I am downloading the TVguide xml file again I will give an update when done.

have you set the source to internal tuner when you added the tuner

Have you got the tuning to type set to antenna or cable? Does the channel numbers in capture source channel list match those shown in the tuning assistant utility?
