Hello there guys
Just a question that may be obvious to you but not to me.
When installing the patches, the TSreader and the native utilities, I take it the files (.ax and the .dll files) need to be placed in the system32 directory and then registered? Is there any other files that need deregistering? (those these may be replacing?)
I have replaced the config.exe file to get my channel search working but would like to apply these other patches as well.
Thanks
Duncan

You just place the files in the "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr" directory, replacing the existing files of the same name. You dont need to register anything.

That's interesting. I assumed the TS reader .ax needed to be registered, so I ran the reregister filters batch file. Howcome an .ax doesn't need to be registered if it's a filter? Just wondering and trying to learn.

The .ax files supplied as patches didnt need to be registered because they were already registered on that machine, and these are just updated versions of them.

For example, when the install originally registered the GBPVRTSReader.ax file, it stores information in the registry saying the "GB-PVR TS Reader" directshow filter can be found inside "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRTSReader.ax". When you applied an updated version to replace your existing one, this registry information is still true, and the application can still find the reader when it needs it.
