I actually have two problems, installing the patches from the survival guide and the system not waking from standby to record. I figured I wait on the patches before asking about the record problem.

Anyway, I can download the zip files for the updates just fine, but my XP box says that they're password protected and I can't extract them. What's the password?

Thx

Try stopping the recording service before you install...

Weird. There is no password. Can you unzip other downloads successfully? What folder are you trying to extract them to? If to the GBPVR folder, like ACTCMS says, disable rec svc first.
C2Duo E8400, 4GB, GE8600GT, PCH A-100, HVR2200, NPVR 1.5.31, Win 7 x64.

Stopping the recording service worked for some reason. Probably some stupid thing with the way the compressed folders misinterpreted the failure to overwrite.

Thanks.

The password request seems to be a bit of a red herring - the real problem is that you are trying to overwrite a dll which is already in use by RS. Glad it's sorted...
